Ante

Ante is the son of the Volcano, from which it receives its minerality and its backbone of crisp acidity supporting intriguing citrus notes and complex hints of spices: all the shades of Mt. Etna’s native white varietals.

Varietals: Carricante (70%), Minnella, Grecanico


Vines: Bush trained. 8,500 plants per hectare (3,450 plants per acre)


Age of vineyard: Up to 40 years


Altitude: 850 and 1.200 m slm


Terrain: Sandy, volcanic, very rich in minerals, with subacid reaction.


Vinification: The grapes are harvested manually and selected, brought to the winery in shallow crates, where the whole clusters are soft-crushed. Fermentation in steel vats at 20 °C.


Maturation: Circa 12 months in the same steel vats.


Refining: After bottling for at least 6 months.


Produced bottles: 5,500 (2010 vintage)


Tasting notes

Eye: greenish straw yellow.
Nose: fruity with hints of aniseed.
Palate: dry, harmonic, good structure, rightly acid.


Alcohol: 12,5%
