Our first stroll through Moganazzi, years ago, has definitely lit the spark of our passion for the Volcano’s vineyard. A natural amphitheatre, framed by dry-stone walls built of black lava blocks. In the centre, an ancient palmento, a traditional wine pressing house looking towards the Nebrodi mountains north of Mt. Etna. Here we found thousands of vines older than half a century, still in perfect health. Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio are the varietals, vinified together to make Aetneus, our first red wine. Together with the Vigneri team we have worked hard to replant the vines that had been lost over time. Slowly, we raise them, hoping that they can live naturally as long as their sisters.
